As well as a graphic designer I’ve been involved with other creative projects involving writing, music, community art, and developing a place where people can understand their value and develop their own ideas.

Created an interactive art trail at the Old Chapel Cafe from work created by the team, members of the community and  myself. I’ve also run also run music making sessions there, including song writing, as another way of encouraging the expression of ideas and values and allowing people to find a role connected with their interests. Based on the WACE project which I was also a joint founder of.

Creating a space

Old Chapel Cafe LogoI was a director for 7 years as part of a team exploring the vision of creating a fulfilled world by enabling people to discover and engage with their interests and ideas, and find a role making a difference using them. The Old Chapel Cafe & Activity Space is an inclusive, neutral space where anyone can ‘Chill out, join in and start something new’. Including running sessions at the ideas clinic to support the community in getting their ideas off the ground.

Listening & expressing

tell us your story logoGiving people space to talk is an important part of them understanding their journey of who they are and where they fit, which is why I spend time working for Acts charity as a listener for the ‘Tell us your story‘ project. Giving people a cathartic space so they can tell their story. I then look to create an image, song, poem or other expression in response to the themes discussed, giving people the opportunity to be involved with that creativity. #tellusyourstoryproject
